Retirement - Katy Stratton

D01 Sa R2

Well, I've left the orphanage.

Aiden and I moved to the Xyphaleen Apartments, just around the corner from the orphanage so that we are close enough to help.
Number 5, thats ours.

Its much smaller than what we are used to, but there is only 2 of us.

Hopefully this will be the start of a nice, relaxing retirement!

I Am Mayor - Parker Tate

D01 Sa R2

Finally, its happened.

I am mayor of Asbhy Falls.

I will sit as Mayor for 4 years before the next election, and hopefully, many more after that. I have been given an office downtown (in Kai Mountain) to run the council out of, its not finished yet, but I think its good enough to start holding meetings.
As of today, the council constists of:
Myself - Mayor

James Hudson - Chief of Police, Minister for Emergency services

Katy Stratton - Minister for Children
We definately need more council members. Some positions are still empty.
It has been planned that we will hold a meeting once a year (on the 1st, 6th, 11th and 16th of each season).
Our first meeting is later today! I'm very excited :)

A New Start - James Hudson

D20 Ra R2

We've moved.

The police station was sold and I purchased a smaller block in Tate Street. I got my kids back, and the 4 of us are living quite comfortably in our new 4 bedroom house.

I'm working from home at the moment, just until the new Mayor is elected and money for the new station allocated. There's rumor of the new station being built in Xyphaleen. I dont really care where its built as long as its on a different block to the one the kids live on.

We havent heard from Brooke.. I'm worried about her.

My Baby Girl - Parker Tate

D19 Ra R2
She's here.
Mia finally arrived today.
As soon as I saw her I knew she was my baby girl. It was just something in me that screamed 'thats my child'.

I have to admit, she's very cute.

Lupe Rivera, owner of the Rivera Orphanage in Lemon Creek came to hand Mia over, and make sure she was ok in her new home. I think she was pleasantly surprised. And, off the record, that woman sure can dance!

Of course, she had to give me the obligatory 'this is how you take care of a baby' speech, which I was more than happy to listen to. It has been quite a while since I've had a baby in the house.

Mia seemed to have a great time, playing with all of her new toys, exploring the house. She even took her first steps! Right in front of my eyes! I almost cried!

I'm sure little Mia was tired from the trip, I put her to bed without a problem. She just lay down and went to sleep, what a good little girl. Lupe and I said our goodbyes, and promised to keep in touch with each other.

I hope Mia will be happy here. I guess its lucky she's so young, she wont remember her previous family, or the pain of being taken away from them. Hopefully, her life will only be full of good memories, happy memories, and memories of a father that loves her, very, very much.

I Have to Get Out - Brooke Hudson

I have to get out of this town.

I cant stay here. I just have to get out.

What Happened? - James Hudson

D18 Ra R2

I went to work. I do it every day. I go out on patrol. I do my paperwork in my office.

Today was different.

I walked into the family home to find my three children, Daphne, Emery and Eva, had been taken by the town social worker.

I looked at Brooke in disbelief.
"What the hell happened?" I asked. She looked at me, crying.
"I just cant handle it any more."
"... Um... Ok.... Look, Its fine... I'll pull some sttrings and get the kids back by morning."
"I dont want the kids back!" She screamed at me. And than was it. She left.

I had no idea she felt like that.

I got hold of the Xyphaleen Orphanage, where the kids are being housed, it looks like they'll be giving them back to me in a few days. It turns out Brooke had called the Orphanage, hysterical, saying she couldnt cope with looking after three toddlers any more and could someone come and get them immediately. I cant believe it... I just cant believe it.

Brooke has run off. I dont know where she is. I understand if she isnt happy and wants to leave town, but I wish she would tell me where she is. I just want to know she's ok.

Getting Ready for Baby - Parker Tate

D17 Ra R2

I am absolutely thrilled! My adoption of little Mia Grimm has been approved by the Revera Orphanage in Lemon Creek!

This is the only picture of Mia that I have, I keep it on me at all times to remind me of the good things to come.

I have been very busy getting a room ready, the old study has now been converted into pink paradise, with toys galore and a brand new cot and change table! Its very strange walking into the house and seeing so many baby things again! The kitchen once again has a high chair in it, and ther is a box of toys in the hall. I'm so happy!

I hope its all ok, I probably did go a little over the top, but she deserves it... and I did have a bit of spare money.
I cant wait til Mia gets here!

Mind Made Up - Katy Stratton

D16 Ra R2

I've made up my mind.

At the end of the season I will be handing the orphanage over to Isaiah Tate. Aiden and I will be moving into a small apartment in Xyphaleen. Isaiah is happy, he wants nothing more than to take over the orphanage. William is looking to rent an apartment with his girlfiend, I know he's young but he's a risponsible kid.

Aiden and I decided to take a holiday before retirement. We went to Moonbeam Isle, the sun was lovely. We both enjoyed it very much. Whilst there we met a little street urchin, Tina.

Well we couldnt just leave her there could we? We brought her back to the orphanage. I have to make it a little difficult for Isaiah! After all, he will only be looking after Thomas, and now Tina as well. I'm sure he will be able to handle it.

If I make Mayor I will continue to be spokesim of Ashby Falls, but if I do not I will pass it over to the new Mayor.

I'll Let This One Go - James Hudson

D14 Ra R2

I saw something this morning that I never thought I would.

Spokesim and Mayoral Candidate Katy Stratton stealing one of the old newpapers left on my porch.

I couldnt believe it. I had to look twice to be sure. It was definately her.

I confronted her later about it, she told me she didnt know what she was doing, she had been stressed trying to decide what to do with the orphanage. Seeing as the old newspaper had crumbled in her hands, and that bringing this to the medias attention would only cause trouble for poor Katy, I decided to let this one go.

Just dont tell anyone.

Adoption - Parker Tate

D14 Ra R2

I have sent a request to our friends at Lemon Creek regarding the adoption of a baby girl.

Since the death of my dear wife, Caden, I have been very lonely. I'm ashamed to say it, but I miss having all my children around, and have always felt awful for not being a good enough parent back in those early days. I want to make it up now.

Now that Ike is in high school, and working late most evenings, I find myself thinking more and more about having another child. Unfortunately the rules state I cannot adopt inside Greater Ashby, fair enough. Interhood adoption is something I had not considered, until reading about it in the Lemon Creek news. What could be better? Helping out another hood, helping a child and fulfilling my wish for another baby, not to mention this will make my popularity sky rocket, it seems too good to be true.

I just hope my proposal is accepted.

True Love - Katy Stratton

D15 Ra R2

It seems that I've finally found love.

His name is Aiden, Aiden Stratton.... Thats right, I married him! Dont ya know that I dont have much time left in my old age and I wanted to make what I could out of it.
I was a bit upset he didnt have much money, the orphanage could have used it, but I guess that doesnt matter. I do love him.
We met when I wished for love at the old well in the front yard, funny huh? He was the one, even the well knew that. We plan on traveling one day soon, if we can get someone to take care of the orphnage for a few days that it. Isaiah is desperate to take over from me, but he is so young, I just dont know. Is it right to leave such a young teenager to run an orphanage? I know I am getting old, too old for this game, but I just dont think he's quite ready for such a big responsibility.
I am running for Mayor. I think I have a good chance. Truth be told I wouldnt stand for more than one rotation but I can see that there are a few changes I would make before retiring. Ashby Falls desperately needs more parks and recreation areas, the poor kids only have one place to hang out and god knows itw where all the scum hangs out too. We need some vatiety. We also need schools, sending the kids all the wat into Sim City is stupid.
Parker Tate seems to have the same ideas as me, so either of us would make a great choice for Mayor I think, poor Brooke Hudson is too tied up with raising her kids to worry about Mayor. Poor thing, they've just hired a nanny so I hope that helps.
Little Thomas is settling in to life at the orphanage well, why wouldnt he with 2 big brothers there to look after him? Both Isaiah and William love having a new baby around, they are very good to him.
When all is said and done maybe it is time for me to move on, from the orphanage, from spokesim. The next generation is growing up fast, perhaps I should be investing in a retirement villiage. I'm sure there will be a need for it in the future, and what better place for Aiden and I to spend the rest of our lives?
We'll see what the next few years brings, maybe at the start of the next rotation I will feel ready to move on.

I Will Be Mayor - Parker Tate

D13 Ra R2

Mayor Parker Tate.

Mayor Parker Tate.... MAYOR Parker Tate. Mayor Tate.

... It all has a nice ring to it.

I am very excited about the prospect of becoming Mayor. I've been using the pre election period to get myself ready, physically and mentally. I know that being Mayor of Ashby Falls is a huge task, but I am sure now that I am ready to undertake it.

I've been talking to James ans it seems his first priotiry is a new police station. His wife, Brooke, isnt very happy about raising their kids in the current house, and I agree with him, a new police station and house for the cheif and his family is at the top of the agenda. Katy Stratton has also said that she would like to see schools established in Ashby Falls so the children dont have to commute to far. This is also, at the top of the agenda.

Emergency services and education, thats what a town needs, and thats what a town will get should I become Mayor.

Toddlers - Brooke Hudson

D11 Ra R2

Today, my darling little twins Eva and Emery grew into toddlers!

We have three toddlers now!
I've spoken to James about moving, I dont think its safe to be raising our kids in a house thats joined to the police station. He agreed, but said we would have to wait until after the new Mayor was elected because we would need funding to build a new station from the new council. Fair enough, but I'm not happy. The part of the station that we live in is too small, and one room is full of explosives and weapons, thats not good with kids around the joint.

I cant wait for the new Mayor to be elected so we can get out of here. I know I'm runing for the job but really, my hearts not in it, I'd rather be at home with my kids. I'm quite happy taking a council position instead.

A Nice Surprise Katy Stratton

D11 Ra R2

I could barely believe my eyes.

I walked out onto the front porch and there was a tiny little boy, wrapped in a blanket, lying on the front steps.

I named him Thomas. Its a nice strong name, good for a boy.

I told the paper that there was no note, but really, there was. I just didnt think the poor boy needed all that media attention. He's been through enough.

The note said that his mother had died, and his elderly grandmother was having trouble looking after him on her own. She had dropped him off here after reading about the orphanage in The Ashby Times. She did the right thing, of course, dropping him somewhere safe. I just hope that this doeant turn into an epidemic of parents or guardians dropping off unwanted children.

Of course we weill always have room for the kids, but seeing so many children without families is heart breaking.

At least this little one is safe.

Dad, This is Alex - Ike Tate

D11 Ra R1

I wanted to introduce my girlfriend Alex to my Dad. We've been dating for a while now, and I really think she's the one. Dad doesnt know yet, and I really need to tell him... I really, really hope he approves.

So, here goes.
"Dad, this is Alex." I almost winced, not wanting to look him in the eyes. I was sure he would lose his head over this, bringing some girl home wasnt my usual style.
"It's nice to meet you Alex, welcome to the Tate house!"
I couldnt believe it.
"Are you going to let Alax stay for dinner? I'm making spaghetti."
"Um.... yeh, sure..."
And that was the end of that. I dont know what I was so worried about. I mean come on, Alex is HOT! and she has a great personality, who wouldnt like her? Turns out her nad my dad had a lot in common. They were 'hanging loose' all night long!
At least Ican relax now, that wasnt so hard after all.
