My family is dead.

There was a fire in the kitchen. Stupid Isaleia could never cook anything.

She left toaster pastries in the oven, and the place quickly caught fire. Funny thing is, that was the second time she'd done it... THAT DAY. The fire brigade came the first time, all the way from sim city. The second time they didnt come.

Our fire alarm had been burnt that morning, so we didnt have a chance of getting out, Isla died first, I tried to save her but Grim wouldnt have it, Isalaeia was next, again I pleaded but still nothing, and then Katy. Finally Grim listened to reason and let Katy stay. I dont know what would have happened without her around. Someone has to run the orphaanage and I'm too young to do that.

Poor Isaiah passed out on the floor, leaving me and Katy to clean up the mess.

We took Isla and Isaleia to the Caden Cemetery, next to our mother Caden. The Ashby Times gave us a new kitchen, but it doesnt matter, whats a new kitchen worth? Not the lives of my sisters anyway.

This should never have to happen to anyone again, and it wont, I'll make sure of it. I'm going to become a fireman after graduating high school, and I will start the Ashby Fire Station myself.

Life is Good - Ike tate

I've been working on my skills, and its paying off. On my first day at work I got a promotion! Cool huh? I'm on my way to the top.

My Dad is enjoying being free from work. He's even discovered a new constellation! He called it "Ashby" because it looks like a map of Ashby Falls... I kinda think he's just seeing things but it was good enough for him to get $500 apparently.

Our dog Sasha has been hungry lately... well more than usual anyway, Dad thinks she's expecting again. We've had her and Cheif Hudsons dog Kelper get together a lot. Dad and Cheif Hudson want to breed police dogs for the future. Their puppy Saige is already being groomed for life as a police dog.

School is going well, but Dads not happy about me being public schooled. He invited the headmaster of Sim State Private High School over for dinner, but he wasnt very impressed and denied me entry to the school. So tomorrow Dad has invited the headmaster from North Sim City Preparatory over to see if we get any better luck there. I really want to go to private school, but I know it will cost Dad a lot of money.

A Change of Career - Parker Tate

I have decided to quit my job as an adviser for the Board of Greater Ashby. I'm not enjoying it at all. I constantly make the wrong decisions, plus they keep reminding me of how I am such a bad role model for the parents of Ashby Falls.

My son Ike and I have a good relationship now, and seeing as he recently grew up into a strapping young lad I think I've done a fair job. Of course, I cant help but wonder what Caden would say. I miss her dearly, and still cry every day about her passing. If only I hadnt gone to work that day. Well it wont happen again. From now on I am going to be working from home, looking for planets and constellations. It pays a lot better than my old job, and I am here when Ike gets home from school, something thats never happened before.

I think Ike might be a little worried about money, he just got a job, I'm very proud of him but there is no need to worry. I have put money aside for his college tuition.

I've decided to take advantage of the Town Halls job board.

Seeing as I'm a teenager now, it's time to start thinking about my future. University is $10,000, and I'm going to have to get a job to pay for it.

I quickly got a job handing out water bottles at football games. Cool huh?

Grown Up - William Tate

Now that I'm a teenager, its time to think about what I want to get out of life.

I want to be a family man. Having no real family of my own kinda makes me realise how important it really is. Having parents that care about me would have meant I could go to college, and get into private school. But being raised in the orphanage means I can do neither of those things.

I guess whats important is that I learn from mt own parents mistakes and grow into a better teen and adult than them.

Sort of Successful Breeding - James Hudson

Parker and I had endevoured to breed our dogs, Kelper and Sasha, to create police dogs of the future. We had success... sort of. Sasha only had 1 puppy, a girl that we jointly named Saige. She looks like a retriever, so hopefully she will make a fine police dog in her adult life. For now she will stay with the Tates. Parker has agreed to train her and then give her to me.

Little Ike wants a puppy of his own, and Parker is keen to try for more to sell to his friends. We'll see what happens in the future, I wouldnt mind having another puppy around, it would be good for Daphne to grow up with pets.

I'm a Parent - Brooke Hudson

I couldnt believe it. Not half an hour after James left for work and little Daphne arrives.

I'm not sure if I was more worried about being alone, or becoming a parent! Thats all passed now though. All I have to do is look into her eyes and I know everything is ok.

We bought a crib and change table, on James' small salary thats pretty much all we could afford at the moment. I'm afraid to say it but I think I'm going to have to get a job. I started a small vegi patch so we can grow our own food, at least we wont have to worry about groceries anymore, but we still need money to buy necessities - clothes, toys for Daphne, a dining table. James wants me to hold off on getting a job, he says everything will be fine if we just wait it out. He thinks he's going to get a promotion soon. Being the only police officer in the entire district must be hard on him though, even if the only crime ever reported in Ashby Falls was because of me.

For now, I'm happy being a stay at home mother, but if James ever thinks we could use some extra cash, I'll be jumping right in.
